Homophone 1 (phrase) leads to Homophone 2 (on Urban Dictionary) leads to answer. Three separate parts, only the answer starts with “b.” The homophones DON’T. Start with filling in the blanks in Hint 6, and it should be very, very easy.

I don’t know about rephrasing the hints. I think it’s just people zeroing in on certain aspects without paying attention to the whole, and I can’t see any way to fix that :/ But I hope this explanation helps some people and gives this thing a kick-start.

And a question while I’m at it: Is the third puzzle the other code, or is that yet to come?

...Yeah :B I don’t really know where to start, rather than trying random things like the binary; nothing’s jumped out at me as particularly significant.

I don’t know at what rate I should release hints. Puzzle 4 is a cipher with a simple, weak, endless key. Letters are represented as numbers 1-26.

At the end of the contest can you show us all the “puzzles” for a day before you post all the answers?

Is the key a word, or is it a number/numerical sequence? I don’t know a ton about cryptanalysis, but I don’t want to try brute force and it’s too short for frequency analysis.

The point of the puzzle is essentially to guess how it’s encrypted. If I used a standard encryption method, either you would need a supercluster to crack it, or you would need to take 2 minutes to Google the appropriate tool and use it.
