Ok let’s look at a case There’s an item with a buyout price of 1000 The current minimum bid is 200
I put in 2000 max bid instead of buying it out. The “Buy this item” bumon should disappear imo. But it doesn’t. So the next person who comes in can just buy the item completely ignoring my max bid. I wonder what the message from BidSquid will be too. |

I’m sure (s)he’s just using this as an example. Say you put a Tumorous Kidney on Kyboubai, 460,000 start, 800,000 buyout. There are a few bids, and it goes beyond 800,000 . The buyout bumon doesn’t disappear, so that means someone can just come in and buyout at 800,000 . The Biscuit Kid edited this message on 01/25/2009 2:31AM |

That makes sense but what if there are 2 or more bids higher than the buyout price? Should the first bidder get the item while he’s outbid by another one? I think it’ll be fine if the delay for buyout is reduced to 30 mins. That should be enough. |

If you see the buyout bumon, why would you still bid? Why wouldn’t you, you know, buy it? |

To try to get it for a price below the buyout price. Happens on eBay all the time. They have the exact same issue as OP describes on here, too. |

You’re all over the place I don’t understand you. I think if there is a max bid above or equal to the buyout price, the buyout option should simply disappear. Of course the bidder doesn’t get the item immediately, auction proceeds as normal. |

Your case is simple. Just buy it Log in to see images! I’m talking about the case where the buyout bumon is only activated after 1 hour. It’s kinda annoying when you bid higher than the buyout price and someone still jacks it off you. So decreasing the delay is the best solution I think. |

Oh, but that’s not even a solution. in 30 minutes there can still be bids than exceed the buyout price. I won’t just buy it because that doesn’t increase the bidder score I think. |

But that will take away the meaning of buyout. The seller only wants to sell it fast. |
