Adult admission is $10.50 around here. $7 is under 12 and matinee. Can I ask you something? Are your bumocks supple?

LMAO. But I also get to write it off on my taxes, since I sort of work in the biz. I can pretty much write off any entertainment expense, including FW. It counts as professional research.

But seriously, $10.50 is standard here, unless you go to one of those crummy theaters that are still playing movies that are already out on DVD. You know, the ones with $2 Tuesdays?

I think it’s best to be as sneaky as possible with the pay to play stuff — like all those Korean RPGs (and soon Mythos) that are “free” but require you to buy items to get anywhere without spending 10 billion hours. If you’ve got time investment from a player and can stir up their voracious desire for L337 G34R before they want to buy, then you’ve nailed em’. Just try not to be dix like Something Awful and sell a car and THEN tell people that the rear-view mirror, hubcaps, tail pipe, engine block, pedals, and everything else someone would expect to get with a car are sold separately. Or maybe try that, I dunno, it works for them.

This is all about marketing and psychology. Work on a price structure that caters to an endless desire (like Magic the Gathering or Pox Nora) and you’ll roll in the dough. People love UNLIMITED ACCESS and BONUS STRUCTURES (I know I totally can’t resist a bulk pack thing where I can spend 5 bucks more for a better deal), so try and work off that.

Lastly, personally, I totally wouldn’t mind paying $5 to $10 for Episode 2. I mean, seriously, this game has been more fun than a lot of the $60 titles I’ve bought, so how the **** can I justify whining?

Maybe you can charge 5 bucks per episode, but make it last a month or so, and give those who play a chance to win a free episode via the forumwarez domination games or have a higher probability of finding a free-play card in the P0wn shop the more episodes a player buys…there are many possibilities.

Without getting into it too much, I’m what they call “under-the-line”, i.e., a tech. That’s when I actually bother to work. It’s a horrible business (but not as bad as the music business, thank God).

I wouldn’t pay for it, but I would most definitely play it.

God, it took awhile to read through all that.

Anyway, to those who have donated, I seem to recall that ET said Ep.2 would be free-to-play for prior donators (which, note to those worried about costs, would make it a good idea to donate a bit now to minimize costs, hey hey!) Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I suppose I’d pay about 10 bucks…maybe…if I could figure out where to get/how to get money for a Visa Gift Card or whatever. If you do make it cost money to play, then it’d be a good idea to have threads about payment options et cetera.

Note on the adverts: I think that I’ve clicked on several of them, but I also find that I’m coming across the same ones over and over, Rappelz in particular. I note that once I have clicked on an ad, I will find out about whatever game or site it describes (generally finding that whatever it is fails on my mac, bleargh.) and then I will never click it again. Perhaps you could find some way to vary the ads that come through? The sort of person to click on these ads, such as myself, would very much be more likely to investigate them if they were not the same all the time. Just a thought, you know?

And I wonder, could you put on more advertising space, and increase revenues that way? It probably would violate your ToS tho, drat.

I believe you asked for suggestions for more Brownie Point rewards? Here’s one: Brownie Points being exchanged for custom fonts in Flamebate posts. Here’s another: Brownie points for the temporary ability to post “before” someone else in a flamebate thread- have your post be chronologically where you want it in the thread. It’d make for interesting happenings I think.

Or maybe my mind is just addled from all that reading.
