APOLOGIES- the ad I put up led to the edit portion of my post so it’s here now.
This is you big chance for 3 BP. There’s only two challenges. But I don’t know how solvable they really are. The answers are not random numbers or letters the will spell something out IF you put enough though into them. You might have to run them through a few decoders a few times… So if you are sure you can do this tubmail me your answers and I will send you the second and last challenge.
CHALLENGE #1: 13,18,16,8 7,18,15,7,8 22,15,11,14,6,9
Hint: just because there are separations it may not mean anything. I will add hints if no one has gotten it after a while. |

I think the ciphertext is too short for analysis. |

OK. Challenge 2 is sent out…to one person so far.
Completed Challenge 1: Professor Falken
But here’s another hint for #1: It has to be decoded 2 times. After that, the rest should be simple. If I haven’t gotten some more correct answers in a few days for challenge 1, I’ll post challenge 2 in this thread… but you still must solve both. Happy hunting.

Oh and one more hint for challenge 1: There are 2 or 3 things you need to depending on how you solved it. Balloon edited this message on 12/27/2008 12:44PM |

Well since someone wanted more hints for #2:
The code is not consistent.
Not very helpful I know, I will make it all up to you later. |

Before I release another clue. I’d like to know how many people are interested in this? I haven’t gotten many tubmails, but that could also mean that people can’t figure it out. So if you are trying to figure out, post here to let me know. Thanks. |

To recap: Challenge #1: It’s something most everyone had heard. There are 3 things to do to get the answer. It needs to be decodes twice. The spaces may not mean anything. The numbers represent letters. So far only one person has solved it. ———————————————————————— Challenge #2: The ”-” are minus signs. The code is not consistent. And and extra Hint for 2: You’ll need a reference guide. |

What kind of reference guide? Is it something totally random that we would never get, like “The Complete Guide to 17th Century Irish Armor”? |

How did you guess? Now I gotta think of something different.
No, it’s not obscure. |

Is it an in-game reference book, like “Buying This Book” or “Guide To Breathing”? |
||||||

Is it a specific guide or generic? That would be “The Complete Guide to 17th Century Irish Armor” vs any guide to 17th century irish armor: a specific book on a subject vs any book on the subject. |
||||||

Heck, does it even need to be on a specific subject? Or does it just need to be a reference guide?
Uhhhh… I have a reference guide, does that mean you tubmail me a special hint or something? Help us out a bit more.
EDIT: those questions probably should have been 1 post edited twice when I thought of more to ask instead of 3 posts. I’m bad with forum etiquette; I don’t use forums much. zagerblag edited this message on 12/28/2008 12:08AM |
