How does luck affect .moar farming?

So it’s been said that your luck stat affects the gathering of .moar files. How exactly? Because to me this sounds like placebo. |

Apparently you get the ‘rarer’ files more often. Which means you’ll have all but one piece of the large files rather than lots of completed Carrot Top files.
Really it should be changed so that it instead it affects your odds of getting things you don’t already have. |

so some files are rare and some are common. so having high luck means the rare file becomes common and the common file? becomes rarer? |

No. It lets you be able to get the rarer file parts. Gives you the chance, not those sweet odds. |

Yeah I know it is, that’s why I could be wrong about luck needed to get files. Still with HoFF giving so much not going to take that chance. I got (25/50) today. 5 more in a day’s visits, and I have doubles of so much. |

I’m currently trying to find out how Luck works and what pieces are available for .moar files in forums and have done 20 runs on Denture Chat with 6 different characters whose Luck stats range from 2 to 78. Luck DOES make a difference, but at least in this Forum, it’s not a big concern. There is a file the lower Luck guys get almost 3-4x as much as higher level chars and the extra files the higher Luck guys find is pretty much divided elsewhere. I’m not seeing any real difference in which pieces are found or whether or not Luck affects if you get pieces you happen to be missing. I think it is skewed towards missing pieces but that it is for everyone.
In the end I’d say take Luck if it happens to be there, but don’t really worry too much about it. |
