He is even more unsurprised to find it caked in blood. It doesn’t look very old, either. Charming. Though it is too dark to see far, fine upstanding member of society can hear the sounds of hundreds, possibly THOUSANDS of unseen demons mumbling, gurgling, growling, all manner of noises. He shivers. His thoughts are interrupted when a demonic, booming voice splits the air:

Well. Poop. Looks like it’s time to get down to business. Seeing nothing in his immediate vicinity, fine upstanding member of society walks left, scanning for his targets. He doesn’t have to wait long.

Hands shaking, fine upstanding member of society fires a few rounds into the skull. It moves blazingly fast, but dies even faster. A little underwhelmed, he looks around some more. Another lost soul appears and is quickly terminated, but then fine upstanding member of society runs across *another* new enemy:

Swapping to his combat shottie, he begins a fighting retreat, pumping and firing as he steps backwards. At first the pellets seem to serve only to enrage the lovable ball of muscle and teeth, but it drops dead at fine upstanding member of society’s feet before it can rend him apart. fine upstanding member of society soon encounters 2 more of these demons, but the knockback from the shotgun easily defeats their angry charges. fine upstanding member of society pauses. He can hear or see no more opponents. Made confident by his flawless victory, he is about to yell something obscene at the crowd when the announcer’s voice cuts in once more:

fine upstanding member of society is tempted to give a resounding “**** yeah”, but he considers that he doesn’t know what the next round holds, the enemies may be stronger… |

I downloaded this game after I saw the previous thread. I’m playing the game right now while posting here, and I just got to hell’s arena a little while ago. I was playing on normal so there were some Cacodemons there, and one blew up my free chaingun Log in to see images! |

A couple of steps NE would leave just one demon in your field of view, still at sufficient range, and maybe leave you a little time to reload before it wakes up. You want it to get a little closer before opening up anyway Log in to see images! meeeeeeeeee edited this message on 11/24/2008 6:16AM |

He readies it just as the first demon lumbers into view. fine upstanding member of society unleashes a hail of bullets of the creature, which would be a whole lot more dramatic if he’d actually taken the recommended accuracy training back at the barracks. Nonetheless, the demon is still turned into swiss cheese in short order, albeit a rather red leaky block of cheese.
Grinning at his new toy, fine upstanding member of society starts looking for the other one, hearing its low grunts and growls. Suddenly, out of the darkness, a huge ball of plasma careens directly towards him! He ducks just in time to see the other demon, and the beast that fired the blast come into view…

Seems like I made the right choice in having him get the chaingun first, otherwise you might of had to fight that sucker without it. Anyway, you should be able to enjoy the Cacodemon with the chaingun and still have time to demolish the demon before it reaches you. *nike swoosh aka just do it* |

...hitting the demon, which was dumb enough to run into its firing line. The blast hits it full in the back, and the explosion scorches both demons badly. Barely able to contain his laughter, fine upstanding member of society mows down the nearly-dead demon, his shots carrying through to hit the cacodemon floating behind it. It tries to ready a third blast, but expire midway through, leaking plasma energy from its mouth as it crashes to the ground.
fine upstanding member of society feels hardened by his experience, and feels that rush of knowledge again…
