Why do so many people hate furries?

It does not seem that they have done anything that is wrong, they are just different. I am not a furry myself, but I wish to understand why so many people hate furries. |

I think a better question is, why would anyone feel the need to be furry?
I can’t understand why some people are gay and feel sexual attraction towards the same sex…
But animals? It’s dumb.
Also, I hate them because I hate all fads. I hated Goths, I hate emos, and I most certainly will hate furries. |

Group “furries” contains 1% “vocal obnoxious drama furries” and 99% “silent furries”. The 1% of “furries” that are vocal and obnoxious cause the entire group of furries to be viewed as vocal and obnoxious. |

As much as I want to revert to yelling YIFF IN HELL and putting no thought into this post, I will admit that furries seem to be the internet’s token punching bag. Which is kind of strange, because even for how strange and annoying furries are, the internet is home to all sorts of weird fetishes and other disturbing ****. I honestly think it’s the extremes of the group that ruin it for the rest. I’m sure quite a bit of the furry culture are perfectly normal, but it’s just so much fun to focus on and ridicule the smaller group of extremes.
Also, I hate furries because I live in southwestern PA and take clbumes at Pitt. I was taking summer clbumes during Anthrocon 08, and there was all this additional traffic and confusion and people talking about furries on the radio. I even saw two of them in fursuits walking down the street. I was traumatized for the rest of that week.
As for others, though, I think it’s just more of a fad to hate furries. And here’s some images.
