I think a lot of the hate has to do with the fact that some furries go out looking for a fight, or they jump into fights and compound the situation. Like if you post a thread like this, and a bunch of furfabulous persons started trying to defend themselves, it only adds tot he fire.

Also you gotta post that whole comic, there’s more like the furfabulous person saying “You only know stuff about me cause of that CSI episode!”

The amount of drama that would cause would be p. awesome. Furries as a group are just fun to troll. Maybe there are lots of otherwise normal well adjusted furries but the ones that aren’t are funny as ****

Oh ****, I didn’t know there was more to this, I’ve only seen this comic which I was going to post (too big to embed). Are there others in a series or just these two?

I kinda joke around about being a furry myself to be honest. I’m not into fursuits or yiffing, but its fun to act like an animal your personality is closest to. I don’t really think being a furry is a fad, its just integrated into who someone is.

People hate furries for the same reason people hate PETA, they take things too far. Sure, Goths and emos do ****, and they are trolled, but furries tend to go more toward the “extreme” side, literally and metaphorically.

The best thing I can think of to describe hate toward furries is something I saw somewhere on the internet about console fanboys. It went something like this:

Microsoft fanboys will boast about how they have the best system, and the cooler name, and the best hardrive.

Sony fanboys will scream and shout back about how they have the better system, games, controllers, and hardware.

Nintendo fanboys will do everything the other fanboys did while screaming obscenities, slanders, swears, curses, and top it off by having sex with everybody in your family ending with you, before pulling out a shotgun and shooting them all execution style in the back of the head while you are tied up defenseless on the floor begging for mercy. Then completely ignore any flaws in the system they are trying to glorify.

So to wrap it up, yes, furries get a lot of hate, but most of it is their own fault. Just like PETA.

Personally, ever since I wandered around PETA’s forums looking for a laugh and saw a thread declaring that making your kids drink milk is child abuse and should be punishible by having the kids taken from you and put into protection while you serve jail time, I just can’t take them seriously. Not that I ever did.

They had it coming.
