Eh, if Apple wasn’t so draconian about the control they attempt to exert over your hardware, maybe. I could just be an bum about this kind of thing since I like being able to use whatever innards I choose to run anything, and I like to be able to run anything I put on my machinery without allowing a company to have a remote kill switch (a la Apple’s remote delete code for iPhone apps).
Ultimately, I want to get less lazy and find a good nix build.

The iPhone thing is nasty, but fortunately it looks like they are slowly remedying it.
I just find that I am very productive on a Mac. It’s got what I think is the best GUI in the world, and underneath the scenes it runs unix. It’s beautiful for developing in that regard.
I could use one of the modern Linux distributions I suppose (although I’m not sure they have a text editor as good as TextMate), but then I couldn’t run photoshop. The GIMP, unforunately, is a ****ty substitute. |
