So here’s the thought, to address everyone who wants to play but can’t be on during those crucial last few minutes, and so doesn’t play ‘cause they think it’d be pointless:
Each player can choose the hour (on the hour, to make it easier to code) that their personal domination week ends. After that point, they cannot play cards or have cards played against them. They cannot earn scoops (activities which give scoops aren’t disabled, they just aren’t awarded). At the default reset time (9pm Eastern Wednesdays) everyone’s reset. End times will be displayed.
Same as the way I suggested in my solo v. klan suggestion, players have to choose their time before they can participate in a given week.
So? Another horrible idea? Or a brilliant one? |

The timers would all reset at the week end, so if you set it for, say, 10 eastern, your week would end 23 hours before the “official” week ends. It wouldn’t buy you any more time. Sorry that wasn’t clear. |

Seems pretty good, one thing tho, after you finish your week are you invisible to the other players so they don’t know how many scoops you have so they put themselves just one above?
It’s a pretty good suggestion but in the end it feels like the ones ending at 9pm EDT still have the upper hand. |

Actually, hiding the scoops might work for a while, but someone would come up with a script to record them every hour or something, so that they could keep track anyway. |

This would be easy for the klanfabulous persons to exploit by getting a bunch of scoops and ending their game when no one else is on to bumhole them. |

I’m not sure, but I think he meant that you would be in a bracket with all people who chose the same time as you. Probably the only way to make this work and not be exploitable is to have maybe 5 or 6 set times you can choose from. I like this idea! |

This has potential, though I get the feeling there would be stale periods.
I think a clutch of 3-5 different times that you select from a dom options page or something would be better. When you earn your first scoop it’d bring you there and be like “Hey, what time do you want to finish the competion: A) 11AM B) 3PM C) 7PM” then the dom brain would dump you in a medal-appropriate pod that ends at your chosen time. then maybe the next round wouldn’t start until the last timeblock has pbumed. If you just finished an early pod there could be a big warning on your character page like “HEY you finished an early dom pod. there’s still games in progress so the system isn’t accepting any new players. wait until 7:30 if you want your scoops.” Or you could have it be a permanent thing that, once chosen, cannot be unchanged until you are not in a pod. So that your chosen time would stay forever until you change it before entering a new dom week. That way you wouldn’t need a cooldown after an early match.
So, for instance, one week Tom’s Ribshack would be end at 3PM while bedwetters would end at 7PM. Players previously in ribshack have to either wait until the last game is over and choose a new finish time or, if using the global time request, after 3, ribshacker can start scooping and be dumped in another 3pm pod.
the issue might be filling the pods since likely there would be one with less players.

Interesting idea but it seems like it would be a total nightmare to code.
Basically it makes it where shield cards are less useful as you can always lock in your scoops early.
I figure the big klan would look in ties early with most of their alts and then play defense with secondary alts. |

I’m all in favor of trying to find a way so that more players can play. The current end time seems to be a big frustration point for everyone outside of the US timezones (and even some within.) But, really a rotating time is the only solution I’ve seen that would legitimately work.
Anything that allows a player to have a semi-unique situation is hugely open to abuse. Especially anything that creates a window where no one can play cards or where a player can be immune to having cards played on them. From a raiding klan perspective it would be possible to hold an epic raid leading up to my end time and not even have to make the scoop sacrifice to purchase cards, as all my scoops would be safe from destructive cards. It would also greatly increase the scoops on the board. Usually klan scoops are turned in for a card. Cards are only cost effective in that they protect scoops. If the scoops are already protected there is no need for cards, suddenly instead of 100 scoops being 25 cards that can repopulate to maybe 25 – 30 scoops, they can sit there as 100 scoops. |

Don’t know if the idea is salvageable, but last minute raids (or other methods of earning scoops) could be handicapped. |
