Rerolling forums - Should something be changed?

I’ve done something to address this since people entering and leaving was being nasty to the server.

The number of threads in a forum is still random, but it only changes once every 30 minutes.

Additionally, the random number of threads is the same for every player on the server.

In other words, leaving and entering a forum will no longer give you an advantage. Leaving it and checking it again in 30 minutes might, but somehow I doubt that will give you the same advantage that it used to Log in to see images!

How can we encourage players to participate in Flamebate?

@onli: I did put readme stickies at the top of each forum, indicating which rules apply in each one. But since that didn’t seem to work for you, I’d love to hear any ideas you may have on what would make it less confusing, either in this thread or via tubmail. Thx!

One suggestion would be implementing a larger separation between the game discussion and the role-playing areas. I don’t know if it’s possible, but maybe you could use separate tabs up top, one for game discussion & help, one for Flamebate. Add to that a different style to make it easier to tell which forum you are in.

In a truly random card shuffling the odds will always favor the player who goes second, in other words the “house”

Card counting will tip the odds in the favor of the player, but it doesn’t work by increasing the odds of winning a hand- instead by letting the player bet more when the odds are in his/her favor.

When running for AF you are always betting max, so card counting would not help at all even if it was possible.

Still, played properly you can make the odds pretty close to even so if you start out with 15k  or more you can play nearly forever. But the odds are still with the house.

I won two trophies this week when I wasn’t expecting to get any at all- I didn’t have the visits to get any significant lemon/pistachio/vanilla, so I just traded in my scoops until I got a switcheroo, moved my 25 lemons to antifreeze and played blackjack every chance I got. I ended up with max scoops and favorite flavor that way, even after being hit with about a dozen cards.
