i was watching the original toy story the other day, and I think i found a plot hole. So like, buzz lightyear thinks he’s some kind of ****ing spaceman and convinces all the toys that he is. we slowly see andy’s room decor change from “woody’s roundup” to “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command”, his bedspread and all the posters changing and ****, and we’re lead to believe that buzz becomes andy’s new favorite toy, and plays with him all the time.

but if andy’s playing with buzz constantly, how the **** can buzz still think he’s not a toy? i mean, this kid is playing with him constantly, decorating his room with pictures of him, etc…and buzz still won’t believe he’s actually a toy. Also, how would buzz know not to talk to andy or show any kind of movement when he’s in the room? It’s not like the simple presence of humans makes toys freeze, since woody and the freak show in sid’s room manage to move and talk in order to scare him at the end.

this is driving me INSANE.

Perhaps the Buzz character (as you described) is actually a surfaced multiple personality of Andy that fights his way to the surface and becomes dominant from time to time. When this happens he becomes animated and believes he is the spaceman.

I suggest you suspend your disbelief for the proper enjoyment of the film or take a lot of drugs to watch cartoon toys yap at you.

Buzz has a big ego. He probably thinks he’s being idolised by Andy.

Buzz thinks it’s all part of a Zurg plot.
