Yup.
I’m designing my first customer appreciation contest right now. |

What’s a “Customer Appreciation” contest? Does the person who posts the most evidence of appreciating your customers win? Does the customer whose value appreciates the most win? |

It would simply be a contest in which I pick one of my Lucky Customers and they receive a token of my appreciation. |

What would this token be? Which customers would you pick from? Would the price of their purchases weight their chances? |

1. Not sure, could be almost anything. I might simply take suggestions, find out what people like. 2. I would probably have to select from customers that I can verify had finalized transactions, so, it would probably have to be limited to customers after I started the contest. Maybe they’d have to post in the thread with a link to the closed auction so I could tally up their ‘score’. 3. I think the total price of all purchases would have to be a factor. Someone that buys Versnatche Glbumes should have a greater chance of winning than someone that only bought a Smileprin XR. |

I can’t think of anything particularly meaningful you could give besides BP. This would essentially become a BP raffle, like the BP purchase contests but with an element of chance, and we don’t know CZ’s position on stuff like that. Personally, I think either we shouldn’t be able to transfer BP or we should be able to arbitrarily transfer items and , possibly with a fee. |

After discussing the idea, CZ decided against this promotion. However, they did give the green light for my other Contest (see Post #2 of this thread) as well as my Hiring Help. Stay tuned for more details. Acid Flux edited this message on 01/23/2009 11:11AM |

aww, I posted a thank you while you were adding space!
But just in case that didn’t count, I’ll post it again.
Thanks for adding the kidneys, I really needed it. |

Why is 5-HTP cheaper than an Endopatch? Isn’t 5-HTP strictly superior, healing more, healing instantly, and with no delay before you can use another? Also, could you please stock Mountain Dewm? Also, are people actually buying enough items for you to profit? |

It’s a slim profit, about 10% or so, on the Drugs. The 5-HTP costs me less than the EndoPatch, which is why I sell it for less.
Tomorrow afternoon I’ll add some more items. |

Apparently my question about the profit wasn’t clear enough. You lose your deposit when nobody buys your items. Do you make more money on sales than you lose on unsold items? |

Ah, I see. To be honest, I haven’t had that many unsold items yet to see the effects, nor have I done a specific calculation to determine that. The profit margin on one item is enough to cover two similar items lost deposits if the don’t sell, I think. But for such low end items, I’m not too worried. I’m keeping the price on the drugs as low as possible to generate store traffic and goodwill. If I break even or lose a little bit of money (which I don’t think will happen, but I will keep an eye on it), that’s not a big deal compared to how many new players I’m helping out. |

Almost. I still expect to make a fair amount of profit on my other items to justify the time and effort (as well as sinking so many points into my Frugality stat), but if a novice player can get a Smileprin XR for about 30% less than they would normally pay, then I’m all for helping them out. |
