SRSLY: A Contest To Reward RP with BP: WEEK #1

You’re in time for the show

You’re the one that I need, I’m the one that you loathe

You can watch me corrode like a beast in repose

Cause i love all the poison away with the boys in the band

we realize that, like every project we undertake – especially my band, which is still looking for a new drummer who isn’t a complete bumhole more interested in hitting on the bbumist than in making important, world-enlightening music – this is doomed to failure, but we hope at least some of you will take pleasure in our pain and loss.

therefore, starting tonight at midnight EST, we will be running a Role-Playing contest. if you would like to take part, please make a post in this thread stating “i’m in” or something to that effect. members of klan SRSLY will be watching the role-playing forums for your roleplay, and at midnight Friday April 25th, we will decide who has most impressed us with their ability to create an interesting character and role-play it the best. the winner will be sent 5 Brownie Points as a reward for their commitment to rp – enough to create a new alt with a new avatar and a new IDC color just in case your personal shame over rp makes you feel you have to change your identity. we understand completely, and suffer with you in the eternal darkness of social conformity.

if you don’t win, or this week is bad for you to have the time to post much (i understand, as much of this week has been spent in a dark depression staring at the ceiling), or if inspiration doesn’t hit you until too late, don’t worry: as the title states, this is only the first week, and we plan on running this contest several times.

the only real rules: don’t break board rules; we won’t pay attention to RP in the non-RP forums, so don’t screw around in those places; we will pay attention to rp in IDC, but even though our lives are sad and meaningless with no real purpose, we can’t promise to have someone watching there constantly, so if you think you did good RP then TM a copy of it to me or Natalie.

i’m not complaining or anything, i don’t mean to sound arrogant, ‘cuz i’m not, and i think you’re great, and i’m not really a good enough musician to give advice, and i don’t want to seem like i’m pushing you into conformity because that would make me just like my parents which is the worst thing i could be.

what are your favorite bands?

i listed most of them in my profile, but weezer, jimmy eat world, snow patrol, my chemical romance, and of course, death cab for cutie.

So, this is probably pointless, much like life, but there’s a few of us here that want to try out the “RP” aspect of things in more detail. It may be destined for failure, like all of my dreams, but for more information or if you’re interested, please tubmail me or Natalie. You might want to do it kind of soon in case I follow through on my threat to my roommate to open my wrists.

If you’d like to explore the RP side of this game – chatting in IDC in character, having RP events in the RPG forums, or just generally If you’re a fabulous persongy fabulous person (we certainly are) then you might be really into this and we’d be glad to have additional people who want to be fabulous persongy fabulous persons with us.

Please note: we’re not just going for some huge number of members, and spading and vanilla runs might happen but won’t be a focus. If you don’t RP, then you’ll be removed. There’s not some “required number of posts” or anything, but c’mon, guys, we aren’t new to the internet.
