This just proves you’re a victim of Hollywood bull****. While a Kalashnikov is an extremely durable weapon, the M-16 isn’t prone to jamming any more than any other bumault rifle. The reason it got a bad rep was because of the propaganda that claimed it ‘hardly ever needed cleaning’, which is utter bull****. That led to higher expectations than were reasonable. If you do regular maintenance on an M16A2, it will serve you faithfully. Add in the fact that for a while the 5.56mm ammunition being used was sub-par, and that’s where this myth comes from.
Compared to virtually every SMG out there, I’d much rather have a M16A2. It’s far more accurate and powerful in almost every situation.
