We look so white

in this light

like two angels disguised

as sinners

who don’t believe in sin

let me in so I can

feel you again

be you again

because I miss you

and then

everything I write is ****

and I know it

how can I be a

proper poet

when my head is filled with

nonsense

like happiness and incense

and yes, I love you

and yes, I miss you

but I also miss you as an

unobtainable

as a person far away

and I guess you still are that

so I miss what I have?

I don’t pretend to make sense

that would be pretense

like pre verb tense?

just know I don’t regret the

past tense

I don’t regret one second

even though I’m coughing every second

in the present tense

were past tense

now restless.

but I didn’t get you sick

pity, misery loves company

maybe you got me sick

Love sick?

I’m not used to this!

thinking in terms of

cliches

and

better days

and how can this be wrong

when it feels so right?
