over the past decade or two the government decided it’d be a great idea to make the banks lower the requirements to get a loan for a home so more people could buy houses; when the market decided to **** out and interest rates went up, all the poor people who didn’t get fixed rate mortgages couldn’t pay their bills. one of the major reason we had to bail out the banks
