Yes. I kinda saw Ed Sharpe & friends at the Treasure Island Music Festival a few months ago, but we were eating when they were playing.
I was mainly there for Grizzly Bear, who seems to be my favorite band at the moment. Hearing this live was probably my #1 favorite moment at a live show:
Other highlights from that day were:
Thao NguyenLog in to see images!- she’s just amazing and adorable and I love her
Beirut playing My Night with the Prostitute from Marseille- it’s different and somehow twice as good live
The Decemberists played their new album in it’s entirety which features Shara Worden from My Brightest Diamond and Becky Stark from Lavender Diamond- I’ve always had the hearts for Becky and my god, Shara Worden’s voice is a beast. I can’t even describe it, it just grabs you by the throat and forces you to listen and it doesn’t even need to because you truly want to hear it and you kinda wish it would let go of your throat in case it’s ****ing with your personal acoustics but it refuses to let go and you’re ok with that.
As for the second video, I’m not so into Nickel Creek. Log in to see images!
I only posted nickel creek because I heard that song the last two times I was in Cali and for not knowing who the hell they were they impressed me.
I’ve never been a huge decemberists fan (****ing Colins voice) but I have a couple my brightest diamond songs randomly (one is a tainted love cover which is p good but somehow less emotional than the 80’s new wave original) and I can imagine how amazing she must sound live. I had other **** written here but I’ll just post this instead http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1d405_05-my-brightest-diamondgood-bad-guy_music
