Guys, I need your advice: There’s this guy, he’s not very smart, but a total self-exposer and somehow manages to get some attention despite not being good at anything. However, I have quite a good (professional) relationship to him and I don’t feel like making him angry or anything (his personality is okay, too). Now he showed me a short text which is supposed to become the start page of his new consultancy website. It’s ****ing pathetic and ridiculous. Anyway, he asked me if I could “fix” it and as this isn’t much work at all, I obviously couldn’t deny it without making him mad.
However, I feel bad about it: I don’t think he deserves to get a decent text from me because that would basically “trick” his customers into thinking he has some qualifications. On the other hand, if I give him a bad text, that basically means that it’s my personal fault if it sucks (and writing texts isn’t his main field of work anyway). Should I feel responsible and give him a good text, hoping that possible clients realize how bad he is, should I give him a bad text or should I come up with some weird excuse for not doing it?
