What is the central theme of Confessions of a Humorist: Wow. I just read this, and was pretty impressed. At face value, it sounds like finding your vocation, and sacrificing your life for it, finding nothing but misery and lust for more. I don’t know about it being a metaphor for Capitalism, I’d have to study it a bit more.

The central message, to me, is basically “Take it easy”. Chances are I’m wrong, but again, I’d need to look over it a few more times.

Why doesn’t she like you back: Because girls are more superficial than boys. Whereas you may love her personality, chances are she won’t love you back if she doesn’t like your personality AND find you physically attractive. Its practically a law of nature.
