I wouldn’t normally care about ‘mod discretion’ being exercised, because the alternative is a morbum of carefully worded rules that try in vain to eliminate every loophole. Human judgement is a good patch-over so that people who need banning can get banned. But this just seems vindictive; you were holding a grudge, waiting for any shallow pretext to ban the guy, and now you’ve decided the opportunity was there.

Maybe you’re ****ed off with this thread, maybe you find him annoying, maybe you’re blind drunk or have a hangover or someone killed your cat/****ed in your cereal this morning… whatever. None of that is a reason for a ban, no matter how much discretion you’re allowed.

****ing shameful moderation when someone can raise a complaint, however trivial or otherwise it may be, and have that be taken as trolling the person complained against.
