first, what is the universe? is it just the cosmological universe? No, since there are things outside that, like heaven and hell (let’s just suppose there are). Then there’s God. An infinite being. An infinite being must include everything. The cosmological universe, heaven/hell, and all that stuff are just subsets of god.
God literally IS the extended universe.
So here are the problems with that: -suppose God only made the cosmological universe (even though in the Bible it clearly states otherwise, let’s say this is some other god that needs a starship) -then whatever else God is BECOMES the universe before that point. So he didn’t make the universe. So this God is not worth our time.
-Now suppose God did make everything, including himself. How could this be possible?
One way is if he destroyed himself and everything therein and made a new version of it. That’s pretty badbum I can get behind that kind of god. Problem is, then there was stuff before the universe. God didn’t make that stuff, so whatever the first ‘stuff’ was that ever existed, God didn’t make it. That’s a pretty lousy God.
So then suppose someone made god and god made the cosmos. That’s not possible since God encompbumes everything, and any other gods would just become incorporated into this one.
The only thing I can think of is that there’s this creation cycle where god gradually destroys himself, and the universe, piece by piece, replacing all of it, since the beginning of time. Problem though is that since God is the extended universe, the universe has existed since the beginning of time, and God thus did not ‘create’ it. Log in to see images! |
