8 is my favorite, as it had the most impressive storyline, and the story is the most important thing for me in an RPG. The Junction system is also the greatest upgrade system I’ve ever tried. The actual combat in 8 was kinda boring, but since it was so easily exploitable, I didn’t care too much.

9 ended up my second favorite, making me wish it was more popular, and I liked 6 a lot, but I never got to finish it.

7 was the only one of the series I didn’t like at all. Fairly fun combat, but nothing else about it that made me want to keep going except completionism. It might have turned me off from RPGs if I hadn’t liked Suikoden so much.
