I haven’t awarded the peen or been involved when it’s been given but whenever i’ve seen it go it’s been for things that took lots of work. lots as in a whole mess of pages or one really big useful thing or just loads of good contribution.

Should someone who makes a few helpful articles get it, or should someone who did a little math to calculate how a stat works get it?

imo no and no. a few and a little isn’t very much work. the spirit of this peen is for people who put in lots of effort.
