I think they are, they make you sit in front of your computer instead of actually socially communicating. This can cause a lack of social skills for real-life communicating. The internet-guy will then feel like an outcast compared to others, so he’ll return to the thing he is familliar with – internet communicating, thus making it even harder for him to get back into real socializing.
