I think this is a great idea for a Theme Week.

Yes, it takes some of the tactics out of the way you use cards, but that just highlights the importance of doing well in every discipline (including carding) to make sure that you end up with a good stack of scoops.

It would also be interesting in the fairly high brackets where there are lots of people trying to medal but where ties are allowed. Do you trust someone enough to try for a tie? Do you try to form semi-alliances with other players or other clans so that one of you goes for minimum scoops while the other goes for fave flavour?
