Beyond .moar files, not really. I happen to like the spadey stuff, but honestly it is pretty frustrating with the visit limitation and a bit pointless given the limited battle situation. Basic logic is all that is really needed to know that if the player gets to hit first, offense is the best defense. If you can kill a thread before it hits you it simply doesn’t matter what your defense is. If I can one shot the threads in 60% of the forums, 2 shot another 35% and only have to be concerned on that remaining 5% of the forums it implies that defense only matters for my character 5% of the time. It’s just not worth investing the time and effort into finding out the difference between defense points if I am only going to even need them 5% of the time.

As it is when you are running the game you can play however you want and do fine. In the endgame you want offense/luck for .moar gathering (and should have points thrown into ego, so you don’t lose flezz on consumables) and for speed all that matters is offense and what you can jack into ego/defense via moar files.
