I hardly play single-player games. I don’t know why. The fact that most single-player games are just one narrow alley, guiding you to the goal doesn’t appeal to me. But anyhow, I guess Fallout 3 would be the winner here or Super Mario Galaxy.

Reasons:

Transformation between Fallout 2 to Fallout 3 was amazing. In addition, the fact that Fallout 3 also became a console game appealed to so much more. With its Oblivion-like aspect and RPG/FPS mix, one of the best games of 2008.

Super Mario Galaxy, obviously, needs no explanation. It’s a Mario game and a stable title, so it obviously sells well. However, the fact that it is not the normal side-scrolling jumper, but takes on a new PR by incorporating new worlds and defying gravity is a unique experience. In addition, the graphics are pretty amazing considering the hardware of the Wii.

A worthy mention goes to Fable 2 and Mirror’s Edge. Both are great games, except short on length.
