There’s a free hacked version of creative’s ALchemy software that patches dsound games to run off OpenAL, though. That usually fixes games for me.

that is my biggest beef. Audio is ruined in vista. who the **** thinks it’s a good idea to put load back onto the CPU when most avid enthusiasts have dedicates sound cards?! Log in to see images!
