My suggestion: Change the cleanup algorithm. Display for us the last two days of activity, and purge all before that. Use the date the user last looked at their feed as a control so if someone goes away for a few days, they can see everything that happened while they were gone.

It would make sense to keep it at least at three days so you can see your last forum pwnings (if you use all your visits in batches of 12, which makes sense to do) without having to click 3 times. Just an expand details link kind of thing, I don’t like my char page to get huge by default.
