How slow is slow? If you could benchmark different system and show beyond reasonable doubt that an average (how do you define that) computer will lock up in a newline thread, I’d relay that to the other mods and probably instate a new rule.

1.9GHz Athlon 64 X2, brand friggin’ new laptop, using Firefox. In those posts I reported with thousands and thousands of ”Log in to see images!” posts, it took about 20 seconds to load the page, then another 20 seconds to load the “report this post” page. Even if I hit Back, it kept on loading because of the Back/Forward cache, and I couldn’t do anything else.

It really wouldn’t be that hard to include a count for how many new lines were in a post… >.<

The ones with thousands of emoticons slow me down tons, it happened on my pc before my video card broke (unrelated, the fan went,) and it happens on my laptop.
