the only logical explanation i can think of, is the mayans either ****ing gave up
(“hey ted, we’ve written a calendar that catalogues over 500 years, i think…i think we’re done” )
or there were more, but they broke them, and said “**** it” and stopped at 2012, not wanting to recreate the rest.
