That’s a valid argument…but most other guitarists at their skill level stand almost completely still while they play, which is something that a solo career allows them (Michael Angelo Batio, Buckethead, Satriani, etc.). When Dragonforce plays live, they’re moving around, jumping, etc. – and the purpose is to get people excited, despite making more mistakes that way. The difference between recording a studio track and playing live is performance – even Buckethead, who plays almost PERFECTLY still as a part of his persona, still practices some martial arts, pop and lock, etc., between songs.
And if you’re going to call them shams for redoing sections of their songs multiple times while recording, than you can call just about every mainstream recording artist a sham as well. Some people claim they play slowly while they record and speed it up later, but that’s entirely false. Bill_Murray_Fan_7383 edited this message on 08/23/2008 5:47PM |
