I don’t think it has anything to do with “we want money from alts”, although I’m sure that is a nice by product.

When klan raiding first hit, no one used alts. Sisters and Flamers didn’t use alts. Knights brought in a few alts, mainly because certain players had other goals (cred/flezz or consecutive e-peens.) A few players started picking up alts specifically to contribute to raids when a main couldn’t or just to add to the total, still this was probably 6 – 7 players in a klan of 60 who had an extra alt or two.

Alts really hit as a solution to big klan dominance when different players split off from Knights and Flamers. I started using alts because I was sick of trying to play well with others and adjust my schedule to fit theirs.

The point is, since the earliest vanilla CZ has pretty plainly stated that they like the idea of klans raiding. It has evolved to use alts in a highly productive way, but they endorsed it long before alts were used.

All that aside, yes, as most of us have been saying for months, something should be done. There are too many scoops, too many cards, too many towers whether they are alts or otherwise. I know BINGEBOT has been working on it, has some really cool ideas that I think will help. Honestly, I’m glad I’m not in his shoes, (well no, his job seems pretty damn cool actually), but I think it’s going to be a **** to find a good balance. Without some sort of wildcard flava the entire game comes down to luck of the draw. Everyone can plan perfect forum runs, gamble and solo vanilla. With no klan in the mix he who turns in a few scoops for cards and gets a Shield will be king. Period. Raiding must produce some sort of benefit or why do it? It’s just the trick of finding that spot where it’s not so strong it can’t possibly be overcome and not so weak that no one bothers.
