Yeah, I honestly couldn’t get into Tipping the Velvet. I think it was the acting that put me off. In fingersmih both maud and sue just seemed so wonderfully sincere and full of yearning.

Have you ever read any books by Ann Bannon? They’re not overly explicit but really good. Just honest and true. My fave is I Am Woman, that whole lesbian liking the straight girl while the lesbian that’s perfect for her wants her and all that love triangle bs. But not soppy.

Ahhhh. I feel like re-reading all her books now. They make me want to move to NY and be in looove.

But only while I read them, then I wake up to myself and realise love and all that is pretty gay.
