Easiest difficulty is I’m Too Young To Die (far less enemies, more EXP, powerups last twice as long, some special floors don’t spawn, and everything heals twice as much), or Hey, Not Too Rough (about normal, slight EXP bonus) if you’re on a challenge mode.
Challenges available so far:
Angel of Marksmanship: Can only use pistols, but start with an advanced pistol (can be modded 4 times instead of 1)
Angel of Berserk: Can only use melee weapons (start with 2 large medpacks instead of small ones. This challenge is REALLY ****ING HARD Log in to see images!)
Angel of Darkness: Same as normal, except you can’t see the map outside your vision range. Not challenging per se, just really annoying. Thank god it’s not required to unlock anything.
Angel of Impatience: You can’t carry medpacks or phase devices, you have to use them on pickup (have to beat this one to unlock Nightmare unfortunately, it’s a total ****)
Angel of Light Travel: Same as usual, but with half the inventory space (10 spaces instead of 20. Gotta beat this one to unlock Nightmare too)
As for traits that make you tougher, there’s 2 you can pick (until you unlock Badbum): Ironman (10 extra max HP) and Tough as Nails (an extra innate point of armor. Armor applies to every source of damage and *each* shot FYI, and it’s most useful against multi-firing goons like captains, commandos, and arachnotrons) |
