No, I don’t. I’m a condescending, self-important, 63-year-old professor. In two years, I will retire poor and unknown. My whole career, I have toiled in obscurity and poverty while my colleagues achieved fame and riches. I have lost whatever sense of humour I once had. I cheer myself up by sarcastically pointing out irrelevant flaws in others’ work even as I shamelessly sucking up to them. People like me don’t get much at all.
