For the record, I’ve often found that while engaging in a conversation on a touchy subject, it can help to say to the other person, “I would like you to cross over the bridge into my country.” Then, ideally, that person attempts to see things from your point of view. Perhaps we can all take an opportunity to do that from time to time.
