When a man’s life ends, he often turns to the religion that makes him the best offer for a last-ditch effort at salvation. Fear of the unknown makes a man grasp at straws.

Interesting to note that it also happens to a man at the end of his “artistic” lifespan. And considering the subject matter, those are extremely emphatic quotation marks.

Nice theory but I’ve a better one:

“You’re a gigantic fabulous person.”
