If you look at the guest list, it’s mostly old and tired stuff that’s been around for years (or in a few cases, new permutations of well worn memes). Don’t get me wrong, I still lol out loud at HSR and Xkcd, etc., but rarely do I really bust my gut anymore. Jib Jab is on the list for diety::scap’s sake.

Besides which, this is being held at MIT. Talk about tired!! MIT is desperate to prove it’s relevant after Negroponte drove OLPC off the cliff, but it won’t work. You’re more likely to find cutting edge digital exploration at ITT Tech or your local cosmetology school.

In short, to be invited to this thing is the kiss of death.

On the bright side, they’ve embraced “social media”, “user generated content”, and “folksonomy”, i.e., they have a blog with comments enabled. Get my drift? Log in to see images!
