For a while you move faster, you hit harder, and most importantly, it heals you to 100 HP.

Is there a good indication of enemies nearby? We want to make maximum use of the berserk pack, so (cautiously) scout for a bit more then return to it, take it, then take them out.

******** decides that he wants to get the most out of this pack, he worked damn hard enough to get it. Advancing south, he runs into a group of formers. As it turns out, if there’s one thing formers are known for, it’s their inability to stay alive for more than a few seconds at a time. Which is exactly what happens. ******** hits the jackpot:

A medpack, a combat shotgun, and a ****ton of ammo. Groovy. He grabs (and equips) the shottie, a whole lto of ammo, and the pack. As he grabs the goods, he is shot by one last former, obscured by the darkness. He easily destroys it, but now he’s on 12% life. THat berserk pack is looking mighty tempting about now…

Ok, now we have a problem. The way ahead seems clear, except it’s blocked by lava. Lava ****ing hurts. Seriously. There’s a staircase back there, but there may also be another way into the rest of the floor that doesn’t involve ********’s legs being dissolved into stubs. Hmmmm…...

Move the barrel up to the wall at the edge of the lava room, shoot it, and go around the lava. Shame about the berserk mode, but lava probably really hurts in Ultra Violence (which I’ve not unlocked yet)

********, in a flash of insight, kicks a nearby barrel against the wall. Unloading into it, it explodes violently, ripping the thick stone to shreds. He storms through the rubble, easily annihilating the one former that dares to exist in the face of his chaingun. Then he runs into a problem. A very large problem.
