The “h-thingy” is a former human, the weakest enemy in the game. They’re laughably weak, even at level 1. What IS a problem is that both our lines of fire are blocked by a barrel, which will almost certainly go KA-BLOOEY. We have 50 max HP. Barrels going KABLOOEY do 6d6 damage. V. painful, to say the least Log in to see images!
Still want me to ignore the former, or take some other action? |

If it’s possible to fire from afar w/o getting hurt, shoot barrel. If no, go straight again. |

Almeda manages to calm himself enough to back off, taking aim at the barrel. It explodes violently, ripping the ex-human apart and destroying the surrounding walls. A slightly injured imp and demon emerge from the rubble, charging Almeda as the effects of the drug wear off. Calmly, he swaps to his shotgun, and blasts both of them simultaneously. As they die, he feels another rush of insight….

Badbum looks okay. Or maybe I should get something for combat efficiency? What you say? |

Badbum essentially makes health boosts over 100% drop slower (altogether at 3rd level, which is REAL helpful for this particular challenge), and reduces knockback. As for boosting combat effectiveness I dunno, we haven’t run across any chainguns yet so Son of a **** and Eagle Eye aren’t TOO helpful yet, but we may well get one soon.
Or we could just level Tough as Nails or Ironman instead. Up to you guys Log in to see images! Something_Witty edited this message on 06/20/2008 10:16AM |

Not picking effective traits (son of a gun only makes you better with pistols, which we won’t be using as soon as a chaingun turns up) on an Angel of Impatience run IS suicide, pretty much. Log in to see images!

Go with Finesse so that you can get the trait that lets you start putting extra weapon mods onto things. Or, if you’re particularly low on mods these days, go for Ironman – a few extra hit points never hurt anyone. |

Laughing as the beasts struggle in vain to hurt him properly, Almeda continues his rampage throughout the large room ahead. After many monsters lie dead, he checks his immediate surroundings, and ponders his next move…

Sorry, what? I’m confused. There’re no enemies in sight ATM, they’re all represented by letter only FYI. Also I don’t know what a ‘proctor’ is, there are only Doom monsters in this game.

Search the area for meds. Once meds are found, use them until full health. |

(Oh, lol, we just call them supervisors here)
Tenatively, Marcus looks at the exam again. No ****ing WAY does he understand this ****. He’s gotta call his techie cuz to save his bum. Defiantly, he raises a hand. The 60-something beast approaches, wrinkles shifting like the depths of the abyss, mammary glands sagging like sickening blobs of jelly. Eyes thick with unnatural eyeliner glare maliciously.
“Yes?”
“Can I please be excused?”
“No.”
”’k. Log in to see images!”
****. Marcus is NOT looking forward to redoing this subject.

Using a nearby medpack, Almeda is suddenly caught by surprise by a cohort of nasties. His shots miss, but set off a barrel hidden in the darkness, leaving the monsters as easy pickings. Grabbing a small globe nearby, he searches a little to the right, then continues his expedition west. Finding some nearly-undamaged armor, he gratefully dons it. He encounters a few more monsters, but comes across something wonderful:

The rare and valuable supercharge globes are renowned for their ability to restore a man’s vitality to DOUBLE its natural threshold. However, such energy cannot be maintained indefinitely, slowly tapering off until it reaches its normal maximum. Almeda WILL use it, but should he check out the rest of the floor first? |

check out the rest of the level first. If we’re lucky maybe we can have another level up and grab that badbum before we max out. Don’t die though Log in to see images! |

Almeda grabs the shining globe and is amazed at how wonderful he feels! Feeling unstoppable, he quickly checks the rest of the floor, only encountering a single former. Still feeling some effects from the mbumive energy spike, he practically leaps down the stairs to the next floor.
