so yesterday after my long transatlantic flight… pulling my luggage off the rail it was stuck with some others and wouldn’t budge…
these people decided to unstick it but I had been pulling so hard I fell back with the momentum
the fall didn’t hurt except for my foot where I heard a CRACK as my pinky toe bent backwards… today half my foot is bruised… (ewwww)
going to hospital now just to make sure the bones are aligned correctly and don’t heal all weird
fractures wooo |

Sapindus is a genus of about five to twelve species of shrubs and small trees. Common names include soapberry and soapnut, both names referring to the use of the crushed seeds to make soap.
Soapnuts are used medically as an expectorant, emetic, contraceptive, and for treatment of excessive salivation, epilepsy, chlorosis, and migraines. Studies show that saponin from soap nuts inhibits tumor cell growth.
Soap nuts contain saponin, a natural detergent which is used to clean clothes, tread greywater, and remediate contaminated soil. Since they do not not leave the residues bumociated with more familiar soaps and synthetic detergents, soap nuts (or concentrated extracts thereof) can be used for cleaning in situations where discretion is a must. |

I broke it, but I had heard it snap so I was sure it had… no cast that can really be done for it so just have it bended with tape and stuff.
Looking back, was pretty cool to hear my own bone snap, even if the pain made me momentarily want to hurl. |

Wow; you’re pretty brave. I’d have screamed and caused a huge scene, I’m sure.
Here’s wishing you a speedy recovery and minimal pain. Good that you’re not confined to a cast/crutches in the summer. That would suck even more than a broken toe.

Actually I am confined to crutches but no cast because they usually don’t do that with broken toes…
Puerto Rico is always the summer though… so at least I’m not missing out.
