Going back to the OP, many, many, many of us (I think), picked their clbumes withow knowing they were going to be suposed to act like it.

The clbum I picked is because it’s the one I loathe the most and would laugh at more than any other.

Yet some of us* are sickly roleplaying people who play D&D, Mage, Vampire, MERP, and whatever other rping game comes into our hands, and would rather roleplay a clbum we dislike rather than play none at all.

Some of us are lawful stupid and would not multi since the rules say so, even when we cannot afford (due to being non-statians) to buy brownie points.

So, considering all this, a posible solution (no, not dirty water *dabadum-psh*) would be to allow a change clbum once, or twice, with haxlrose-styled money cost (maybe 1000^n-1) or something like that would fix a lot.

I will send you brownie points. Anyone else wants a new character to role play?

Another possible solution: (ET, are you listening?)

Allow players a forum clbum which differs from their gaming clbum. You could choose from any of the existing clbumes or the new Ep 2 ones, or a “mundane” to give the others something to play off of. Or maybe others as well. All it would take is one more database field, a selection option on your characters page, and a display field to the left when posting.

EDIT: And if the new field were only visible in the role-playing forums, that might help people delineate more easily between role-playing and non-role-playing and help keep the non-RP cleaner. That would just involve a new field on the forum table: isRP

I’d like a strict RP account, but I doubt I can find a viable way of donating. Too bad, really.

It depends on the quality of the pictures.

Here’s the essential problem with the emo/camwhore vs. troll dynamic — emos and camwhores are self-obsessed, while trolls are other-obsessed. There is rarely a true conversation between emos or between camwhores, because by their very natures, they can’t see beyond their own noses. Trolls see only others, and shy away from anything that might reflect upon their true selves. Emos and camwhores are complete within themselves, while trolls are only complete when they interact with others of any clbum. Re-res, as they’re typically played, have nothing intelligent to say and cannot converse with others or they lose their “re-re” identity.

That is why role-playing as a generic emo or camwhore or re-re is boring. It really does help to create a character, with a history and a projected character arc.

I honestly think things are good. Communities settle into themselves.

I think one of the big issues with Camwhore RP is that it’s funner for females than us guys. Camwhores are all about posting their mammary glands on their MySpace and Facebook profiles, but we guys don’t really have the…bumets to do this.

I there are some things you can do, such as RP as a celebrity, but otherwise, it is legitimately tougher.

But camwhore posts are booring. I’ve yet to see anyone do a good camwhore rp – and this includes Escher, as magnificent a roleplayer as he may be.

Are there any statistics for the number of users of each clbum? It seem that 50% of the posters I see are trolls.

Well, that’s the point.

What comes with the camwhore character is bad spelling and overuse of smilies, and no matter how well you rp (which you do do very well) it’s just not interesting to me.

Anytime I see a post like that my mind automatically tells me to skim it or just not read it all together.

That’s just me, though.
