I think I read somewhere, when signing up for this game, (although I can’t find it now) that you are not supposed to have more than one account; if you want another character, buy it. However, on the forums, I’ve been hearing stuff about “paid” and “unpaid” multis, implying that some people go ahead and make multiple accounts anyway, and don’t get banned for it. Now, I’m not interested in having more than one character, but what’s the deal here? Cerebellum edited this message on 05/02/2008 11:08AM |

You are prohibited from having more than one account. However, you can have more than one character — by buying additional ones with Brownie Points.
The reference to “paid” and “unpaid” may refer to those who bought cheats vs. those who didn’t. If you could link to such a post, I could interpret it better for you. MC Banhammer edited this message on 05/02/2008 11:13AM |

The rule is that you are not supposed to have additional unpaid accounts; if you do, all of your accounts will be banned. The only legitimate way to have additional characters is through the purchase of Brownie Points.
If you see someone talking about “unpaid” characters, please use the Report This Post function so that we can talk to the player and find out what is going on. Many people are unaware of this rule, and generally amicable solutions can be found.

I think the OP is asking if IP masking (or just using another ISP) to create another account with a different email is considered abuse.
The term “unpaid” multi is what I think he is trying to understand. |
