Short answer: Run more
Slightly longer answer: Find out your limits (running, lifting, whatever), then try to increase your limits every week. |

I think you’ll find if you are over 25 your biggest problem won’t be stamina, so much as pain in your joints. That’s how I quit jogging altogether.
I dunno… more calcium might help. |

quit smoking. not quitting is what made me unable to run more than a few hundred feet without losing my breath. j/k i am flawless, but srsly quit smoking if you do smoke. Patently Chill Prestidigitator edited this message on 10/05/2010 2:45AM |

Couch to 5k program for running: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
Or alternatively, run more. Old runner’s rule: don’t increase your total distance/time more than 10% per week. |

Watch your ****ing intake too. Eat real food 90% of the time. Cut back on your smoking as much as you can. |

Speaking of intake, for a large part of my life I had no idea that one of my nostrils was partially blocked. I bumumed everybody got as tired as quickly as I did from a short run, despite the fact that I have a nearly ideal BMI.
Then I had it fixed because of a snoring problem… it turns out being able to take in more oxygen can actually make you run |

Yes. Don’t run after eating. And don’t ever drink cold water. |

You don’t seriously believe in this do you? BMI would have Mike Tyson (when he was knocking people out with one punch) categorized as overweight/obese. Would you want to tell Mike Tyson about his weight problem? I think not.

Stop smoking! Or give up running. |

You’re talking about the very special way of measuring BMI which is a weight/height chart. People who are serious about fitness use body (waist, arm, leg) measurements, water displacement weighing, or scales that shoot small charge through you to determine BMI.
thew00 Posted: The advice about not eating and drinking, no cold water is good advice. You also shouldn’t be destroying yourself every time you run. Ideally you should be training at your target heart rate. You can get a fancy watch or some **** or you could just measure your pulse at the end of your workout. The “talk test” is also a good rule of thumb. The ‘talk test’ means running at a pace comfortable enough to converse with a training partner—but not so easy that you could hit the high notes in an Italian oper Fie edited this message on 10/05/2010 12:17PM |

If you really want to better your endurance and overall physical fitness, cross-train. You don’t get the time to rebuild muscle if you run every day, but if you do other exercises on your off days that use different major muscle groups (rowing, swimming, cycling), you still get a good cardiovascular workout. Even when you cross-train, you shouldn’t be working out every single day anyway.
Aside from just running, you are doing weight bearing exercises as well, yes? If you aren’t, you should be. And you should be working all opposing muscle groups during said weight bearing exercises.
And quit smoking. Not like I will, but I had to say it anyway. |

the guide really helped, went to the base today & followed the instructions, i jogged for about a half a hour without much fatigue, but then i got male reproductive organy and started pushing the speed up until i almost flew off the machine.
PS: wow, they have individual TV’s now at pretty much every cardio machine… talk about lazyness while working out |
