most image editing programs have a ‘resize image’ function (usually in a pull down menu.) I generally reduce an image to 20% or 30% then run it through a sharpen filter a few times, paste it as a new layer behind the layer containing the border for the epeen, and adjust it till I like the positioning.

Well, your epeen border surrounds roughly a 64×64 pixel whitespace. I resized my image so that the shorter side (in this case width) was 64px (rather than a percentage), and placed it on a new layer behind the border and moved it until it was in frame. Essentially the same as you, except I resized differently.

What program do you use?

GNU images and Creative Commons are used in a couple places on Forumwarz, but only where we can give attribution on the page itself.

Unfortunately, for dynamic pages like your E-Peen list, we can’t put attribution for every little thing. Therefore, those have to be bought outright or in the public domain.

In other words, GNU is lame, Creative Commons is lame, people who use those “licenses” are attention whores with no conception of how the internet works. Don’t half-bum it, people: information wants to be free. Release your images into the wild.

would it be within license laws if you just had a single page dedicated to providing the necessary ownership and history data linked at the bottom of the site, along with the “äbout”,” “blog,” “code of ethics,” etc, links?

well whats the chances of seeing the legitimately public domain ones being implemented?
