I finally decided to buckle and buy a Visa gift card so I could donate to this game, and then I started thinking…why am I considering donating $25-50 on this game? I mean, I’ve probably spent a couple hundred on Gaia Online, but money spent there does a lot more than it does here.

Personally, I like the sharp-witted parody and the amount of player involvement in the game. The more “adult” atmosphere to the game is another thing that really sets it apart.

Same thing here. I’m not typically one for altruism, but I definitely feel that the people who made this game deserve to make some money. This is, by far, the most innovative game I’ve played. Except maybe Apples to Apples. The point is, I don’t like the idea of giving money to corporations, but here there’s a smallish player base, the developers are actually involved, the game isn’t just a rehash of smashing things… in the end, I actually felt like a donation to FWZ was justified.

...now if only I could get a tax rebate for it

You know, this is the first online game forum I’ve joined where the people have really gone out of their to make me feel like I’m a part of something bigger, and the people around me really care about me. I lust gotta say, I really love all you guys.

Naw, just kidding, you guys are bumholes. But the game is fun.

My thought on donating to free online games, or paying for premium perks such as ad removal, is simple – if I enjoy playing they deserve a kickback. Besides the time and effort the staff puts in, every player adds to user lag. More lag means they will eventually need more server space and it will have to be paid for somehow. If you play/use the site regularly and can afford it, games you enjoy deserve some support.
