TL;DR: Consistently ****ting things up, rule breaking, lying (not a rule, I know, but annoying all the same), and just generally being a pain in the bum.

Long version:

Technically, Merc has been banned for plagiarism. I ran the entries by JB and he made the call, so I ran with it.

But why a year? Because, Merc has been banned around…12 or 13 times, five of those times were very close after one another. So, he’s a consistent rule breaker. Also, it recently became known that Merc was involved in some account sharing shenanigans, which seems to fall under the illegal alt rule maybe, so that doesn’t help.

The main reason is for ****ting up INCIT for almost an entire year now. Merc claimed that he reused entries so often, because he forgot what he’s used or he’s seen the picture too many times. Bull****, he’s been doing it practically since he started. Here’s some examples:

Yup, he plagiarized one entry three times. Once on 9/11, which is very disrespectful. Sometime he’ll do it within days of the original. I know some don’t seen the problem with repeat entries, but it’s very unfair to players who take time to think up a new entries and to newbies who don’t have a mbumive back catalog to pull from.

So, is it a retro ban for past duplicates? Not really. They’re just a big part of why Merc is a ****ty player.

The biggest problem is that Merc doesn’t seem to learn and that makes my job difficult. All those duplicates show that he’s an unoriginal woman's genitals and he’s going to self-plagiarize again and again. As a mod, I have to keep an eye on him.

Try to imagine how tedious it is to try and keep a lookout for something he’s done before. How much time it takes up and how much stupid **** I have to look for. It makes an already time consuming job even more so, with the only end result being him getting banned for a week and then the process starts all over again. It’s ridiculous and it’s not something I’ll do. It’s also not something I’ll just let go, because being an unfunny, unoriginal retard shouldn’t net you a free pbum.

So, maybe this year long ban will help it stick. He can use the time to memorize all his wins.

If you’re worried that a year long ban will become usual for multiple plagiarism bans, don’t be. This was a very special cirgreat timesstance. Merc isn’t the only one who has been banned for self-plagiarism/plagiarism, but he’s the only one who has done it so egregiously. I’ve actually never caught any other person recycling more than once.

Oh, and also generally douching up the environment around him. The FalconFour loophole, let’s call it.
