Is it just me, or is getting called out for good/evil really a random/guesswork sort of thing? I’ve been doing my best to give nothing but nasty comments but running into the Dr. Jojo comment I was confronted with two “good” selections, I was never given the option the Wiki said I was supposed to get. Now my alignment’s decreased and there was no way to cancel the conversation.
When the comments are obviously jerkish it’s not hard, but in this case the conversation fork was ambiguous. |

Still though. I wanted to role play as a very special arsehole, so doing anything “good” is inherently a big blow. The amount I lost for selecting the “good” comment was 5%, which was more than I would have gained if I picked the evil option I wasn’t given but still, it is very disheartening to have to pick between two ambiguous choices and both of those choices end up affecting alignment.
The choices were, “I’d be happy to pwn them for you” and “eh, sounds like a decent deal”. Two very poor choices for a dialogue fork for that kind of alignment switch. mterek edited this message on 09/25/2009 12:54AM |

But in all seriousness, even if alignment doesn’t mean a lot in the grand scheme of the game (or at least episodes 1/2) it does mean a lot to some people, and the choices determining them should be pretty unambiguous. Elven murder is evil under most folk’s banner. Protesting on behalf of kitties and puppies slaughtered at the local PETA shelter is solidly good.
Those choices weren’t detectably either. |

I ended up talking to Shallow and finishing Episode II before talking to WoeIsModerator, which made all of my final option suggestions evil…the end result was I didn’t get the E-Peen, but didn’t get an alignment bump either.

This is going to be addressed in the podcast, but basically we’re planning on respeccing Alignment across the board to make your choices have more consistent consequences. |
